Abandoned & Unclaimed Checks
Unclaimed checks are checks that are not yet 3 years past the issue date and are not yet considered abandoned. If your name is listed in the document, please complete the “Abandoned Property Claim Form”. The form may be sent to the treasurer by e-mail, fax, or mail at:

Abandoned Checks
According to Massachusetts General Law Ch 200A Section 5: Checks are presumed abandoned unless claimed by the person entitled to them within 3 years after the date prescribed for payment. **Please note that you have 60 days from the posting date to claim these funds if the amount is under $100.00 or 1 year from the posting date if the amount is $100.00 or more.**
