Town Wide Mowing

The Town of Hinsdale seeks bids for the FY22 Town Mowing Contract running from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022. The Select Board has outlined the proposal specifications below. Sealed bids are to be mailed via USPS or hand-delivered to the Select Board’s Office and addressed as follows:

Proposals are due by noon on Monday, March 8, 2021. Submissions will be opened and read at the Select Board’s meeting on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. The Select Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or accept any bid that would be in the best interest of the Town. The successful bidder will be required to show proof of insurance.

Specifications: The following areas need to be addressed no more than once a week in the summer months and no more than once every two weeks in the fall and spring months:

1. Hinsdale Athletic Field on South Street (Route 8)                                            6. Bridge Street (sides of the street over the railroad tracks)

2. Town Hall on South Street (Route 8)                                                                 7. Community Center and Kiddie Park (Rte. 143)

3. Hinsdale Fire Department (Rte. 143)                                                               8. Hinsdale Beach and Plunkett Reservoir Causeway (Longview Ave)

4. Hinsdale Department of Public Works (Rte. 143)                                           9. Belmont Reservoir Buildings and surrounding area

5. Railroad/Depot Park (Across from Ashmere Realty & Along tracks)             10.Town Common/Welcome to Hinsdale Area on Lower Main Street                                                                                                                                              (Route 8) near the former Glenn’s Hinsdale General Store


Additional Specifications:

The Hinsdale Public Library needs to be cut once a week in the summer months, twice a month in the fall and spring, and the Friday before Memorial Day. The Maple Street Cemetery is to be addressed once a week in the summer months and every week and a half in the fall and spring, and there shall be a general spring and fall clean up.

Next, the Cemetery near Bissellville Estates (off Route 8) and the Israel Bissell Site (on Plunkett Reservoir Rd) shall be addressed at least twice per months during the summer, and the Plunkett Dam Spillway shall be mowed once a month from April thru November:

 

Finally, there is to be a general fall and spring clean-up in all areas highlighted above.

INVITATION TO BID
SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION

The Town of Hinsdale seeks bids for two school transportation routes for the 2021-2022 academic school year. The transportation specifications (per day) are as follows:


Hinsdale to and from Smith Vocational School in Northampton, MA. Bids should specify a daily rate and any additional fees. Bidders must meet all state requirements for transporting school children. Sealed bids marked SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION BID will be accepted in the Select Board’s office until 4:00 pm on Monday, March 8, 2021. Bids will be opened and read at the Select Board’s meeting at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021. The Select Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or accept any bid that would be in the best interest of the Town. The successful bidder will be required to show proof of insurance.

 

Hinsdale to and from McCann Technical School in North Adams, MA. Bids should specify a daily rate and any additional fees. Bidders must meet all state requirements for transporting school children. Sealed bids marked SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION BID will be accepted in the Select Board’s office until noon on Monday, March 8, 2021. Bids will be opened and read at the Select Board’s meeting at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 20211. The Select Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or accept any bid that would be in the best interest of the Town. The successful bidder will be required to show proof of insurance.
