The Select Board has called this Special Town Meeting to seek voter permission to transfer $200,000.00 from the Road Stabilization Account to pay for repairs to Fassell and East Washington Roads. If approved, the Town will contract with a State vetted construction firm to grind/mill the current pavement, add more surface material as needed, and restore a suitable "crown" to promote drainage. The "crown" is the area where the center of the road is higher than the outside borders of the surface to allow water to drain from the center of the road surface to curbs or ditches and improve drivability. Working through the Town's Agreement with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG), an Invitation to Bid (IFB) on this work is out so we can complete this project by November 15.
