The Planning Board operates under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A and Chapter 41. The purpose of the Planning Board is to guide the development of the town in the best interests of all its residents. The Board has very specific responsibilities and authorities as granted by Massachusetts General Laws and the Zoning Bylaws of the Town of Hinsdale. Dealing with Zoning Bylaw changes, Subdivision Responsibilities, Site/Design Review, and project planning assistance are all important duties of the Planning Board.
Public Hearing Notice
The Hinsdale Planning Board will hold a public hearing pursuant to MGL 40A, Section 5, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 7pm at Town Hall, 39 South St., Hinsdale, MA, regarding proposed additions/amendments to the Zoning Bylaws as follows:
Add a new Section that will provide for regulation of the use of land or structures in the town for Marijuana Establishments involving
either Marijuana Retail/Production facilities or Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers and further to amend the Table of Contents to
read “Section 15-Marijuana Establishments”.
Amend Section 3-8A –Adult Entertainment Overlay District to include a specific definition of the location of said district.
Amend Section 4-Use Regulations to align use category descriptions with provisions of the Marijuana Bylaw.
The complete text of the proposed additions/amendment to the Hinsdale Zoning Bylaws is available at the office of the Administrative Assistant at Town Hall, 39 South St, Hinsdale, MA during regular business hours (8:30am to 4pm Monday through Thursday). The amendment can also be viewed on the Town of Hinsdale website on the Bylaw & Governance page at www.Hinsdalemass.com .
